Rest In Power DJ Mister Cee....

In the summer of 2004 I made the 1st Biggie Blendz mixtape and sent CDs of it to all mixshow DJs at Hot 97. Fast forward to Thanksgiving night 2004 and my wife and I are driving back home from Thanksgiving dinner listening to DJ Mister Cee on Hot 97. All of a sudden my mix of Dead Wrong blended with Fabolous' Breathe comes on. I asked my wife why she switched off the radio and played my CD. She swore she didn't. Then I realized Mister Cee played my mix on air.

When I sent the CDs they weren't radio friendly. I quickly made a clean version and tried to find Mister Cee's #. I left a message and he called me back a few days later. He told me he gets a ton of CDs everyday but the only reason he listened to mine was that it was all Biggie. I told him I wanted to get him the clean versions and he invited me to Hot 97 to drop them off. That's was the one and only time I met him in person. For the next 19 years he'd call me up every February to get ready for March 9th.
